Since launch, most "casual" drops have felt like a ranked match you didn't sign up for. Kettle Rifle spam, sketchy aim snaps, and that holiday wave of nonsense made every rotation feel risky. Lately it's calmed down a bit, and I've been back on the story grind—especially Celeste's Journals. If you're low on kit and don't fancy another broke reset, it doesn't hurt to know options like ARC Raiders Coins fora sale exist, because this quest punishes sloppy runs. You've got to pull both journals in one deployment after "Back On Top," and if you extract with only one (or get folded on the way out), you're doing the whole thing again.
A lot of people sprint straight into Dam Battlegrounds like it's a speedrun. It isn't. The middle lanes are basically a shooting gallery, and you'll learn that the hard way when the ridge lines light up. My best runs start at South Swamp Outpost, near the southern flood zones. Get in, get quiet, and keep your head down. The first journal is inside the main swamp building, back room, sitting on a bunk bed. There are usually ARC patrols sniffing around, so I bring something suppressed and boring—an SMG that won't advertise me. You don't need hero damage. You need to stay unseen long enough to leave.
Once you've got the first journal, don't take the main road north. That route feeds you right into the dam's central kill box, and somebody's always watching it. Instead, cut toward the south generator and look for the underground maintenance access. There's a grated entrance with a lock—shoot it, pop it open, and drop in. It's not glamorous down there, but it's safe, and it shaves off the most dangerous stretch of the map. You come out much closer to the northern sector, already positioned to move without crossing open sightlines.
The second journal is at North Ridge Outpost, in an office tent, on a desk. Simple location, nasty angles. It's high ground, so assume someone's posted up with patience and a scope. I don't hang around—slide in, grab it, and rotate immediately. If you're solo, resist the urge to loot every box on the way. If you're with a squad, call the grab and move as a unit. West Evac is usually the cleanest exit if you've used the tunnel, but be ready to pivot if you hear fighting stacking up. And if you're tired of grinding mats just to fund "one more attempt," some players top up supplies through services like U4GM so they can focus on routing and survivability instead of running empty.
