How Elemental Expression Works

The core concept of Elemental Expression is simple: each time you land a critical melee hit, one of Path of Exile 2 Currency three elemental spells is automatically triggered. Every successful critical melee hit activates one of these effects. This means your attack speed, crit chance, and consistency directly determine how often these elemental strikes trigger. Faster builds like dual-wield Monks or agile Shadow archetypes are especially well-suited for this Ascendancy node.

Stat and Attribute Synergy

Unlike other triggered skills, Elemental Expression doesn't rely solely on cooldowns or mana - it scales dynamically with your attributes. Each elemental variant of the attack has its preferred stat dependency:

Fiery Explosion scales with Strength
Icy Wave scales with Dexterity
Arcing Bolt scales with Intelligence

This introduces a unique balancing act.
